Dedicated to positively impact the lives of adults through improved literacy.
Imagine not being able to read this message – or not being able to read the newspaper, a book, a map, a menu or the many things most of us take for granted every day! The adult illiteracy rate for Muskegon County (population estimated at 173,951 by US Census Bureau in 2009) is 16.9% or just under 22,000 adults (American Community Survey, 2008). This is enough people to fill the Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts 15 times!
